As the seasons start to change, the cold weather blows in, and that feeling of hibernation sets in, comes a holiday where for eight days strains all we do is party hop from one house to the next each night.
With that being said, hosting can quickly add up so here is a little trick I like to use that is not only a less of a mess to clean up but is also cost effective.
For my table cloths I usually head over to amazon and purchase the table cloth in my desired size, here is the link to my favorite table clothes; the quality is truly amaozng for the price and wash like a dream! https://amzn.to/3NfvsZs (Here I will also link my favorite stain remover here on my store front you'll see chanukah 2023 and you'll see the grandma spray, you'll thank me later).
Next let's talk about the star of the show, all of the plastic wear! For my chargers I used these really pretty acrylic and gold chargers from amazon, see link here https://amzn.to/4a7Szz1, for these stunning navy blue plates, I bought them from luxepartyNYC, see link below. https://www.luxeparty.com/collections/elegant-disposable-blue-and-gold-tableware/products/round-transparent-blue-walled-plastic-plates up next are the matching cup also from luxpartyNYC which I think are unfortunately out of stock but your local Jewish grocery store might have them, (aisle 9 in Jackson still had a couple left). After your place setting are almost set we can't forget about the flatware. For flatware I used what ever I had left sitting in my pantry but this 300 pack is one of my go to orders, they are very sturdy I highly recommend them.
Now for the decor, for the gold candle stick I of course got them from Amazon https://amzn.to/41d7Lqv and here I am re-purposing them as I used them for Ellory's birthday this past year which I can definitely make a follow up post too!
PS here is the link to the "candle glue" that keeps your candles from tilting... you're welcome! So happy I found out about this right before Ellory's birthday party when I was planning everything out all the candles where falling over and that's when the research began. https://amzn.to/3uNrYHu
Next up are these acrylic small dreidels that I used to decorate, https://amzn.to/4aieeoq and these jumbo https://amzn.to/487fyZn dreidels that came filled I got a local grocery store to give out to my niece. (Makes for an easy no mess wrapping gift in case of a melt down). By adding chocolate gelt to the center of table guests can grab a sweet little treat before the doughnuts are even brought out!
Can we talk about these napkin rings! Are they not the star of the show?!? https://cazenovejudaica.com/us/tableware/nr-4020-dreidel-napkin-ring.html all I did was wrap these amazon cloth napkins around which completely elevated the whole place setting https://amzn.to/3RsZNGq.
Next up we have my DIY for this tablescape which is so easy! What's a tablescape with out a DIY? All it takes is these small boxes with lids, what ever colored foil candle and matching dreidels. https://amzn.to/3NiKm19 These containers are great for the price!
All in all, hosting should be fun, affordable, and ultimately a joy, and for me using what I have or just elevating the use of plastic ware is just as pretty as using china. Again less dishes to wash as soon as the party is over and more time to enjoy with your guests!
Happy holidays & חַג חֲנוּכָּה שַׂמֵחַ
