"Happy is he who performs a good deed: for he may tip the scales for himself and the world." -Talmud, Kiddushin Those are the words I used to describe my grandparents Dr. and Mrs. Shanik, at their benefit dinner last night. To the community we live in, they both go above and beyond. To a family like my husband and I, they are an inspiration. It was truly amazing to hear how their charity impacts the lives of so many people in a positive way. Knowing that there are thousands of families that benefit from it is mind-blowing. It all has to start somewhere. Dr. and Mrs. Shanik began this endeavor with a few thousand dollars and now they have an organization that provides millions for families in need. If that isn't unbelievable, I don't know what is. For this charity dinner, I was fortunate enough to have an incredible person turn me into a beautiful princess. Miriam Sokol is an artist of her trade without a doubt. Her magic touch brings out the best in every person. Miriam makes her clients feel unique and beautiful in their own skin. I cannot thank her enough for the beautiful job she has done. Miriam! Without realizing it, you are changing the world on a larger scale one makeup brush stroke at a time.
