COLLEGE - How to stay focused and organized in life.

Often times when people face new obstacles in their lives, they think about how they will over come them. College would be one of those for me. Heading towards the next phase in life after high school was a difficult task, but luckily over the years I have adopted a few things that lead me to success in school. And here they are, 5 ideas of how to stay focused and organized in school.

1

Keep a Planner

I personally enjoy writting in a planner like the one above, but you can also download the reminders app, and the app will remind you when you have to get the task done.

Time Management

There is a method I like to use called the Pomodoro method. This technique is used by setting a timer to break down your work time in to intervals. I like to set the timer for 20 minutes and then take a 5 to 7 minute break. I find that this helps me stay focused and I accomplish more.

3

Get Your Priorities Straight

When you know a deadline is coming up focus on one thing at a time. You may have numerous projects, exams, and even presentations due on the same day. However, if you get your priorities straight you may get some extra time for yourself at the end of the day.

It's Okay To Ask For Help

Not many know this but it's okay to ask for help from teachers and professors. Not many professors want to see their students fail, therefore if you just ask they will help you.

5

Get a Good Night Sleep

It's always best to head to bed as early as you can the night before an exam, so put away that Netflix show you're binge watching. I find putting my phone or laptop away 15 minutes before I go to bed helps tremendously the night before an exam.
